What should be considered when selling electricity produced by solar panels?

A company has solar panels installed. The electricity they produce, which is not used for self-consumption, is fed into the grid. Should an electricity trader be invoiced for the sale of electricity? Is the amount calculated for the electricity fed into the grid considered revenue or can it be booked as a cost reduction? Should a company whose solar panels produce electricity register the production of electricity as an additional activity?
